Testing Preparation

Over the course of the year there are many things that you can do to help improve your child's year end testing score.  These suggestions are meant to be done throughout the year and not as a "cram" course the week or day before testing.

bulletAsk your child verbal & written questions about the books they are reading or the information they are studying
bulletAdd a written test occasionally to you curriculum even if it doesn't require it
bulletDon't forget to include "general" information in your curriculum (Trivial Pursuit or Brain Quest)
bulletIf your child has a weak subject area spend a little more time on it or get outside tutoring or assistance.  Sometimes they just need it explained another way.  If you child constantly doesn't seem to "get" what you're teaching consider having a learning style inventory done to see if they process information in a different style.
bulletUse other resources to reinforce what you are learning (ie. Brain Quest flashcards, videos, electronic educational toys like the Leap Pad)

If you would like to have a mid-year achievement test or assessment done or if you have any questions regarding testing that aren't answered on the testing page please call or email Rosewood Educational Services .
